The data are based on the Global Footprint Network’s Ecological Footprint Atlas (see the HPI 2.0 report for full details of our methodology) which provides figures for 2005. The footprint for each country is colour coded as ‘good’ (green), ‘middling’ (amber), ‘bad’ (red) or blood red for extremely high footprints. Arrow over each country to see its name and ecological footprint in global hectares per capita (gha).
